It’s the Little Things That Count: Outlet Covers

One of the many challenges of outfitting a rental property with cutting-edge smart technology is all those pesky plugs. They look messy, and their position near the floor makes them susceptible to being bumped and dislodged from the outlet.

Luckily, there’s a simple solution: outlet covers.

As we started deploying various smart products around the house, I found myself turning to these outlet covers again. I had originally found them while searching for a solution for the bidet system we installed in the bathrooms at Loudoun Escape.

These humble devices are ingenious. They worked so well in the bathrooms, that we purchased them for our Ring Alarm Range Extenders and Ring Chime. Our trusted handyman company installed them. In the picture below, the outlet cover is open, and you can see the Ring Chime that it covers.

When the outlet cover is closed, the look is sleek and professional. Here is how it looks installed in one of the outlets at Loudoun Escape. There are no unsightly components cluttering up the room’s aesthetic.

I love the clean, uncluttered look of these covers in our bathrooms and other spaces. We are perpetually on the lookout for similar ways to upgrade our property and give our guests the best possible experience.
