How to Connect & Setup Access for Your Houfy Account

With the Jervis Systems-Houfy integration, you can import your property listings and reservation details and automate property access via SET PIN codes for guests, cleaning companies, and maintenance personnel.

To connect Houfy to Jervis Systems and set up PIN code access for guests, follow these steps: 

  1. Sign in to your Houfy account and Jervis Systems account. (Create your Jervis Systems account here if you haven’t already. For more help on signing up, see our help guide here.)
  2. From your Jervis Systems dashboard, navigate to the Marketplace page and select the option to connect to Houfy.
  1. Once you select the option to connect, you will be brought to the screen screens below where you will need to input your API Access Token. 
  1. You can find your API Access Token by heading over to the Settings section of your Houfy profile. Once you click the “Show” text in the API Access Token field, you’ll be able to copy the token and paste it into the Jervis Systems form.
  1. Once your Houfy and Jervis Systems accounts are connected, go to your Properties page within your Jervis Systems account and click “Refresh Properties”. When the page has been reloaded, you will see all of your imported properties. Select the three dots to the right of each listing to view and edit your property details.
  1. From here, you have the option to edit your properties to add an offset capability that allows Jervis Systems to configure automated keyless access for early check-in and late check-out. If you have the same offset capabilities across all properties, you can use the bulk offset tool to apply these settings across your entire portfolio. 
  1. The next steps will walk you through setting up automated access between Jervis Systems and Houfy for your imported reservations. Go to the Devices page and connect to your smart locks and devices by selecting the “Import Devices” button. From there, select your smart lock or device system provider and follow the prompts to connect your smart lock account.
  1. Once your devices are imported successfully, you will want to assign your devices to your imported Houfy properties. You can do this by selecting the drop-down list for the device you want to assign and checking the boxes for the properties to which you want it to be assigned.
  1. Now, you want to set up your Houfy email templates to automatically send the access code details out to guests before check-in. To do this, navigate to the Messages section in your Houfy account and click the Scheduled Messages subtab to create a template.
  1. From there, edit the template to include the variable door_lock_code, and select the specific property listing that the provided code will apply to. This variable will allow the guest PIN code to populate into the email. Then set the conditions for sending the email to be before the check-in time based on your preferences, and allow for the option to send for last-minute bookings. Be sure to save the template once you have finished editing.
  1. You can confirm that automated access is set up and ready to go by navigating to the Reservations tab in Jervis Systems. You should see the 4-digit code in the SET PIN field. 

Success! You now have your Jervis Systems and Houfy accounts connected, your SET PIN is created, and your access instructions are set up to be sent out to your guests.
